House Speaker John Boehner, in a recent interview with Politico.com, has asserted that redistriciting has given Republicans “a very strong foundation for the decade.”

Speaker Boehner also saluted the incoming class, saying ““I think our freshman members are doing a good job preparing themselves for the upcoming election. I would also note that redistricting across the country has helped those freshman members and others in tough seats who will now have better seats.”

With redistricting in Ohio, we’ve seen an effort to recast district lines to more accurately account for our state’s constituents. This puts the balance at about 13 Republican to five Democratic districts.

That balance, at least according to our Speaker, is likely to remain.
