JobsOhio, the private economic development engine designed by the Kasich administration to kick start Ohio’s job creation efforts, suffered an ambiguous ruling by the Ohio Supreme Court last week.

The court, while not striking down the effort, elected not to support it by not hearing a case that would have fast tracked the transaction to fund the program. While not a deciding blow, the move leaves the signature program in a limbo of sorts.

The issue hinges on whether the Ohio Governor can create a private corporation and allow it to use public — taxpayer — funds.
